For you LMFAO and Steve Aoki fans… NV …

For you LMFAO and Steve Aoki fans… NV Concepts and  MASS EDMC have gotten together to bring the PV possibly the hottest event of the season!!

Tickets presale 01/19/11, and open to the public on 1/21/11.

You don’t want to miss out!

And on a random side note, being back for January term is nice and relaxing but I’m constantly bothered by how much I really need to re-evaluate where I’m going in life. With 2010 whizzing by, the reality of the not so distant future is getting real bothersome… I shouldn’t complain or whine but get proactive! However idk if its something in the air, or if its the weather but it seems like a lot of people are just lacking motivation! I guess I’ll use this post as a testament to plunge forward.
Annnd heres song I’ve been feeling lately:

So I’ve been spending the break away fr…

So I’ve been spending the break away from the girls =P but (!) I’m in Taipei, where I haven’t been for 7 years =(. Even though it’s been raining non-stop here, I’ve been having a great time. Food in Taiwan is AWESOME. My cousin and his wife celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary yesterday and my mum bought them a cake. It was chocolate, with alternating layers of fruit filling and pudding filling, with whipped cream frosting on the outside. Where in the U.S. are you going to find a Taiwanese style cake with pudding on the inside!!

If you’re in Taipei, and you have an opportunity to go to the Flora Expo, definitely hit up the 夢想館 (dream pavilion) and the 環保館 (eco-friendly pavilion). I wish I had brought my camera with me to take pictures of the Flora Expo, but all I can do is tell you what it’s all about. The first stop in the Dream Pavilion is to admire a large paper flower hanging from the ceiling that has various degrees of movement and weighs 3000g. Afterward you make a wish in front of one of their graphic stations, and depending on what you wish for (love, health, fortune, etc ..) you get a colored bracelet. In the next room, there are 3D graphic screens of flora, with stations that light up when they’re ready for you to harvest “flowers”. You match your bracelet up to the flashing light on the ground and harvest different flowers from different stations.

Moving on to the next room, you pat stamen like protrusions hanging down from the ceiling, to release and harvest pollen. Afterward you follow the footsteps past another graphic screen where you turn from human into insect (I was an ant). Then you wave your hands in the air, and on the screen, these things (I didn’t quite understand what they were) that help you with your pollen cluster around where you’re standing in front of the screen. Together with a group of people, you put your hands on a large globe which lights up and gathers your pollen. Then the opposite screen yields a landscape image, and then you proceed onto the next room. The next room holds a circular movie screen where a animated screening of landmarks and landscapes in Taiwan play out. After you watch the movie, and get to play with fairies on the screen, you move on to stations where you harvest your flowers, and at the end you get a print out of your own unique flower.

The outside of the Eco-Friendly Pavilion is made up of panels of recycled plastic bottles. It uses natural resources for heating and cooling down. To cool down, water streams down from the side of the building, and all water used in the Eco-Friendly Pavilion is recycled water. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to catch a runway show of the garments created with green materials that are displayed inside the Pavilion.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Alright, so it’s a bit belated.  I’m finally back at Mount Holyoke for the rest of January and the next semester.  After finals, I spent a couple days in New York, a couple days in Williamsburg with the fam, and a couple days back home in NoVa (Northern Virginia/DC). I’m here now working sporadically at Student Programs, pondering my next steps after graduation, and hanging out…here, and there and possibly Boston and NYC.

in dc i spent lovely time with annie and kimmie at peking gourmet, cafe citron in dc, majestic, and later a&js in annandale. (^im growing my shaved part out, as you can see. i’m like three inches out woo!)

Cafe Citron was cute.  When we first got in though (no wait, friendly bouncers), it was kind of crappy.  Obnoxious Latin music and a tired crowd.  We climbed a rickety staircase to the bathroom.  Same ickiness upstairs.  Came back down, and then some friends of ours saw some friends of theirs and then all of a sudden we were whisked away to another wing(?) of Cafe Citron.  Out the club through another door, underneath a curtain and up a staircase was a whole different club!! (but still Cafe Citron…weird, i know…or maybe i am not remembering this correctly…).  This place was poppin’ with fresher beats, a mixed (!!) and moving crowd, and bongo drums!  I put exclamation marks with mixed because with DC clubbing, all the places I’ve been to seem to be chock-full of Asians.  Not that I really mind that (in fact, sometimes i like it–remember Hiro in NYC?) but a bit of mix once in a while keep things fun.  It was 12am and I had already had quite a run at Majestic Bar…so everything is a bit vague for me to remember at Cafe Citron…but I just remember dancing, banging on the bongo drums, running out into the smoking area, and dancing some more.  All in all a fun night.  i give Cafe Citron a 7/10.

^my jam.

Anyway, it just snowstormed here in Western Massachusetts. The snow is knee deep and it’s STILL SNOWING. blargh.  I made my way in my over-the-knee leather boots (that probably arent waterproof and shouldn’t touch water) to my office in Blanchard for Student Programs, set on working my hours (since I missed my last shift…).  My FIRST official day at work this year and this snowstorm…there’s not a soul in the office so I’m writing this blog post, reading fashion blogs. listening to music on youtube, and sporadically replying to ECAASU emails.  IM SO STRESSED.  I’m also down with a little something I think.  I havent eaten in three days just because I’m not hungry…I feel a little dizzy and tingly and tired and hot and cold and nauseous.  i have no idea what’s wrong though, and I’m not taking any medication…so i hope this will just go away already x___x

Anyway, sorry i’m bad at updating the blog.
